Birch tar is a substance (liquid when heated) derived from the dry distillation of the bark of the birch tree. Some people found that Birch Tar Oil could be used as a tonic since it gives a feeling of warmth, so it is ideal for use in extremely cold climates. Birch Tar Oil blends especially well with Benzoin, Sandalwood, Rosemary and Jasmine Oils.
